Multiparametric MRI improves assessment of treatment response in glioblastoma

Evaluation of treatment response is a challenging issue in glioblastoma. There are several traps when making the decision between pseudoprogression and true progression. This systematic review and meta-analysis show that Multiparametric MRI provides important additional clues.

Key points:

  • Multiparametric MRI shows high diagnostic performance for early treatment response in glioblastoma.
  • Multiparametric MRI could differentiate true progression from pseudoprogression in newly diagnosed glioblastoma.
  • The normalized rCBV derived from DSC was the most commonly used parameter.
